An Integrated Visit at your home will include one or all of the services described below, whichever is deemed most beneficial to your pet the day of the visit.

Services

  • Acupuncture

Acupuncture is an ancient Chinese medical practice that has been adapted for modern veterinary care to help support healing, relieve pain, and restore balance in the body. It involves the gentle insertion of sterile, very fine needles into specific points on the body to stimulate nerves, muscles, and connective tissue. This stimulation can release natural pain-relieving chemicals, improve blood flow, reduce inflammation, and help regulate the body’s internal systems—promoting comfort and overall well-being.

Several acupuncture techniques may be used depending on your pet’s needs, including:

Dry needle acupuncture – the traditional method using fine needles alone.

Aqua-acupuncture – injecting a small amount of Vitamin B12 or other substances into acupuncture points for longer-lasting stimulation.

Electro-acupuncture – applying a gentle electrical current to the needles to enhance their effects, often used for neurological or musculoskeletal conditions.

Moxibustion – warming acupuncture points with a therapeutic herb (mugwort) to improve circulation and comfort.

Dr. Lindquist is certified in both small and large animal acupuncture (CVA) through the International Veterinary Acupuncture Society (IVAS), an internationally recognized program that provides rigorous, science-based training in Traditional Chinese Medicine theory, anatomy, physiology, and clinical application. Her approach blends the wisdom of ancient practices with modern medical understanding to create personalized treatment plans for each pet.

By incorporating acupuncture into her integrative care, Dr. Lindquist helps pets find relief from pain, improve mobility, support recovery, and maintain overall health—naturally and safely.

  • Veterinary Spinal Manipulative Therapy (VSMT)

Veterinary Spinal Manipulative Therapy (VSMT), also known as animal chiropractic, is a gentle, hands-on method used to evaluate and improve the motion of joints throughout your pet’s body. Healthy joint motion is essential for proper nervous system function, pain perception, musculoskeletal comfort, and overall performance. When joints do not move as they should, it can affect the entire body—impacting mobility, comfort, and even the way your pet’s brain and body communicate.

Pets of all ages, activity levels, and lifestyles may benefit from VSMT. It can be part of a recovery plan after injury, help address changes in mobility or comfort, or be used proactively to support long-term health. While VSMT evaluations are best performed alongside a full wellness or lameness examination, gentle adjustments can be used to improve whole-body comfort and help prevent or minimize dysfunction in the nervous and musculoskeletal systems.

Dr. Lindquist is certified in Veterinary Spinal Manipulative Therapy (CVSMT) for both small and large animals through the Healing Oasis Wellness Center—the only school to offer a Post-Graduate State-Approved Certification in VSMT (through the Educational Approval Board of Wisconsin) that is also accredited under the U.S. Department of Education. This advanced program provides in-depth, science-based training in anatomy, neurology, biomechanics, and manual therapy techniques.

In addition, Dr. Lindquist has earned the Certificate of Competency from the College of Animal Chiropractors, achieving the designation of Fellow of the College of Animal Chiropractors (FCoAC)—a recognition of her skill, knowledge, and dedication to the highest standards of animal chiropractic care.

By combining her advanced credentials with a compassionate, individualized approach, Dr. Lindquist helps pets move more freely, feel more comfortable, and enjoy a healthier, more active life.

  • Reiki

Reiki is a gentle, complementary therapy that originated in Japan and is used to promote relaxation, balance, and healing on all levels—physical, emotional, and spiritual. It is a form of energy medicine in which the practitioner channels healing energy through light touch or by working within the pet’s energy field. This process helps reduce stress, support the body’s natural healing processes, and enhance overall well-being. Reiki can be beneficial for pets of all ages, whether they are recovering from illness or injury, living with chronic conditions, experiencing anxiety, or simply in need of calm and balance.

Sessions are non-invasive, and pets are free to move, lie down, or interact as they feel comfortable. Reiki can be used on its own or integrated with other veterinary therapies to support whole-body wellness.

Dr. Lindquist is a certified Usui/Holy Fire® III Reiki Master, Holy Fire® III Karuna Reiki® Master, and Holy Fire® III Animal Reiki Master, trained through the International Center for Reiki Training (ICRT)—an internationally respected organization dedicated to high standards of Reiki education and practice.

By offering Reiki as part of her integrative approach, Dr. Lindquist helps pets experience deeper relaxation, emotional balance, and a renewed sense of vitality.

  • Veterinary Massage and Rehabilitation Therapy

Veterinary Massage and Rehabilitation Therapy is similar to physical therapy for people, using safe, gentle, and targeted techniques to support your pet’s physical health, comfort, and recovery. It is often recommended for pets healing from injury or surgery, those living with chronic conditions like arthritis, or senior pets needing help with mobility and muscle strength. Active or working animals also benefit by maintaining peak performance, preventing injury, and improving flexibility.

Massage therapy works to release tight or sore muscles, improve circulation, and promote relaxation, which can help reduce pain and stiffness. Rehabilitation therapy uses customized exercises, stretches, and therapeutic activities to restore strength, improve balance, enhance joint function, and support long-term mobility. Each session is tailored to your pet’s specific needs, with a focus on comfort and safety.

Dr. Lindquist is certified in Veterinary Massage and Rehabilitation Therapy (CVMRT) through the Healing Oasis Wellness Center, a nationally recognized, state-approved post-graduate school for veterinarians, chiropractors, and other licensed animal health professionals. The Healing Oasis program is also approved by the U.S. Department of Education and provides rigorous, science-based training in anatomy, neurology, biomechanics, and advanced therapeutic techniques—ensuring that every treatment is grounded in both knowledge and compassion.

By combining her advanced certification with her commitment to personalized care, Dr. Lindquist helps pets feel better, move more freely, and enjoy a higher quality of life—whether they are healing, aging, or staying active.

  • Chinese Herbal Medications

Chinese Herbal Medicine is a key component of Traditional Chinese Veterinary Medicine (TCVM) and has been used for thousands of years to help restore balance and support the body’s natural healing abilities. In veterinary care, it is often combined with acupuncture and other TCVM modalities, but it can also be used on its own as a safe and effective therapy.

Today’s herbal formulas are created using modern manufacturing techniques, with rigorous testing to ensure purity, quality, and consistency. Each prescription is carefully selected based on a TCVM examination and a pattern diagnosis—an individualized assessment that identifies the underlying imbalance in the body. The goal is to correct that imbalance, address the root cause of illness, and promote overall health.

When used correctly under veterinary guidance, Chinese Herbal Medicine is generally very safe. It can often be integrated with Western medications, allowing both approaches to work together and enhance the overall treatment plan.

Dr. Lindquist has completed advanced training in Chinese Herbal Medicine through Chi University and is actively working toward full certification in this area. Her goal is to blend the wisdom of traditional therapies with modern veterinary knowledge, offering pets a well-rounded and personalized approach to healing.

Palliative and Hospice Care

Palliative and hospice care are compassionate approaches designed for pets diagnosed with incurable conditions or when treatment is not pursued, with the focus placed entirely on comfort, dignity, and quality of life. This stage of care is about supporting both the pet and their family—helping to ensure that the time remaining is as comfortable, meaningful, and pain-free as possible.

A personalized plan for palliative care is developed for each pet to manage pain, reduce discomfort, and maintain mobility. Depending on your pet’s needs, this plan may include one or more integrative and conventional therapies such as Acupuncture, Chinese herbal medicine, Western medications, Reiki, Veterinary Spinal Manipulative Therapy (VSMT), and Veterinary Massage and Rehabilitation Therapy (VMRT). By combining these modalities, we can address the physical, emotional, and even spiritual needs of your pet during this important stage.

In addition to supporting day-to-day comfort, we will work together to create a plan for End-of-Life in advance—so that when the time comes to say goodbye, you can focus on being present in the moment rather than worrying about the details.

Dr. Lindquist is certified in TCVM Palliative and End-of-Life Care through Chi University, bringing specialized training in gentle, holistic approaches that honor your pet’s comfort and your family’s wishes. Her goal is to help pets remain as comfortable and happy as possible, while providing compassionate guidance for their caregivers every step of the way.

End-of-Life Home Euthanasia Services

Making the decision to say goodbye to a beloved pet is one of the most difficult moments a pet owner will face. Our goal is to make this experience as peaceful and comforting as possible—for both you and your pet. This service offers a gentle, spiritual approach, allowing your animal to cross the Rainbow Bridge surrounded by love, calm, and comfort.

Prior the appointment, we can schedule a complimentary Telemedicine Consult to discuss your pet’s quality of life, review their medical history (if your pet is not already a patient), clarify your expectations for the visit, discuss aftercare options, and answer any questions you may have.

For those who wish, a pre-recorded, channeled Reiki guided meditation is available to help bring peace and healing for both you and your pet. For best results, it is recommended to listen to the meditation at home, in a quiet, comfortable space, with your pet present. Soft background music may be played if you wish. If you would like to receive this recording, please let Dr. Lindquist know in advance.

During the visit, we will review the euthanasia process and address any remaining questions. If payment has not been made in advance, it will be handled at this time so the remainder of the visit can focus entirely on your pet. When you are ready, your pet will receive a sedative injection to ensure they are relaxed, calm, and free from stress or discomfort. Once fully sedated, the final euthanasia injection is administered while you are present, allowing your pet to pass peacefully in your arms. This can take place indoors or in your pet’s favorite outdoor area (weather permitting).

After your pet passes, you may choose to make your own arrangements for aftercare, or Dr. Lindquist can take your pet for cremation. Pets over 50 lbs may require your assistance in transferring them safely. All animals are placed in a Euthabag, a specially designed bag suitable for home burial or cremation.

We offer cremation services through Harthaven Pet Cremation Services in Anchorage. For an additional fee, we can transport your pet’s remains, or you may schedule services directly with Harthaven. Please contact them directly for more information:
